March 25 COVID Vaccine Update
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis announced today, March 25th, that the minimum age to receive a COVID-19 vaccine without meeting other work-related conditions or qualifying chronic conditions will be lowered to 40 on March 29th. Starting April 5th, all adults 18 and up will be eligible to receive the vaccine, with no qualifying conditions necessary.
Alabama Governor Kay Ivey set the minimum age to receive a COVID-19 vaccine without meeting other conditions at 55 on March 22nd. No additional information is available on when this might be adjusted further at this time.
Complete Health’s Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Farley encourages everyone who is eligible to receive the vaccine to sign up to receive it. “The only way to truly beat this virus is through herd immunity,” says Farley. “We’re close to the tipping point, and I expect much of life will return to normal in the coming weeks and months as long as people continue to follow proper safety protocols and getting the vaccine when they are able.”
