Primary care ‘home’ model offers advanced team-based care

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., August 19, 2019 – Ormond Medical Arts (OMA), a Complete Health practice, announces it has been recognized by NCQA (National Committee for Quality Assurance) as a Patient-Centered Medical Home. OMA and Complete Health is a quality-focused primary care group that offers patients a competitive and full-service alternative to large and sometimes impersonal health systems. NCQA’s mission is to improve the quality of health care.

A medical home is not a place, but a way to organize primary care so it’s “the way patients want it to be.” Since 2008, NCQA has built the most widely used medical home model. More than 13,000 practice sites and 67,000 clinicians across the U.S. have earned the NCQA PCMH Recognition seal.

Ormond Medical Arts, at 77 W. Granada Blvd. in Ormond Beach, has been serving the community for more than 45 years. With four physicians, four physician assistants and a full medical office team, the practice has established itself as more than just a primary care clinic. Ormond Medical Arts welcomes walk-ins, extended and convenient hours along with special programs for seniors. The office also has on-site laboratory services, diagnostic imaging and dedicated clinical research.

“This recognition solidifies our commitment to quality and whole-patient care,” said Jeff Preuss, CEO of Complete Health. “OMA has worked hard to meet these rigorous standards and we’re proud to have NCQA’s seal of approval for our patient-centered approach.”

NCQA is an independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to assessing and reporting the quality of managed care plans, managed behavioral healthcare organizations, preferred provider organizations, new health plans, physician organizations, credentials verification organizations, disease management programs and other health-related programs. NCQA accredits and certifies a variety of health care organizations and manages performance measures used by more than 90 percent of the nation’s health plans.
