Dr. Keith Swetz is a board-certified physician in Internal Medicine and Hospice & Palliative Medicine, with a career defined by compassionate, patient-centered care. A Fellow of both the American College of Physicians and the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Dr. Swetz is a past recipient of the Hastings Center Cunniff-Dixon Physician Award—recognition given to physicians who demonstrate excellence in end-of-life care.
Dr. Swetz earned his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine in 2003 and began practicing in 2008. He previously held clinical and academic roles at Mayo Clinic, the Birmingham VA, and UAB Medicine. He is deeply committed to helping patients with serious illnesses, or complex medical conditions understand their diagnoses and align their care plans with their personal goals and values.
With a passion for optimizing care for patients with multimorbidity, Dr. Swetz believes in walking alongside his patients through their health journeys—healing, listening, comforting, and sometimes simply bearing witness.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Swetz enjoys traveling with his family—especially to new places—and teaching at CME conferences, where he empowers fellow healthcare professionals to approach complex care conversations with confidence. A proud Penn State alum and lifelong Nittany Lions fan, he continues to work on improving his medical Spanish.
Dr. Swetz speaks English and has intermediate low proficiency in Spanish and French.
