Primary Care FAQs

What services does a primary care physician offer at the Moody clinic?

The primary care providers at the Moody office provide a wide range of medical services that include acute, chronic, and preventive treatments. A primary care doctor can evaluate and treat these non-emergency medical issues such as coughs, colds, urinary tract infections, and general musculoskeletal issues without the expensive emergency room or prompt care bill.

Primary care providers maintain long-term relationships with their patients taking care of chronic medical conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure. They can also provide referrals to specialists when needed.

Preventative care and screening is a major focal point of a primary care clinic. The practitioners at the Moody office will arrange appropriate screening tests and provide tips for achieving a healthier lifestyle. This can lead to a healthier life and reduce the overall cost of medical care.

What should I bring to my appointment?

When visiting the Moody office, bring a current health insurance information card and any documents the doctor needs to fill out. Have a list of your current medications, vitamins, and supplements with the name, dosage, and frequency of each medication you take. Writing down a list of questions for your doctor will ensure all your concerns are addressed and you leave the appointment satisfied you got the needed answers.

Can I receive preventative care and screenings at the Moody primary care clinic?

As primary care practitioners, the providers at Moody clinic value providing the highest quality of care including preventative strategies and screenings to help you live a long, healthy life. The clinic provides a wide range of preventative care measures in addition to screening exams and tests. However, for those not provided at the Moody clinic, your doctor can provide the necessary referral or prescriptions necessary to stay on top of your healthcare needs.

What should I do if I need urgent care after hours in Moody?

If you are having a medical emergency, call 9-1-1 for immediate assistance and EMS transportation to the nearest hospital.

If it is not a medical emergency, reach out to our after-hours call service which can provide you with some advice or can get you in touch with an on-call provider as needed. The on-call provider can assess the current situation and guide you until you can be seen in your doctor’s office the next day. They may also encourage you to seek immediate care at the local urgent care or emergency room.

You are not alone when the need for care arises as the healthcare providers at Complete Health are only a phone call away.

How often should I visit my primary care physician at the Moody clinic for routine check-ups?

Depending on your situation and current health status, the number of routine check-ups can differ significantly between patients. In general, patients who are under the age of 50 without any medical conditions, may only need to visit the doctor’s office once every three years. However, for patients over 50, it is recommended you visit your primary care provider at least once a year. If you take prescription medications to manage a health condition, it is important to visit your primary care physician at least once a year.

When living with certain chronic medical conditions, such as diabetes and high blood pressure, more frequent evaluations are required. Depending on how long and well-controlled your medical conditions are, the primary care office will provide recommended follow-up visits that could occur every three months or sooner. The frequency of follow-up will be determined by your doctor and is often based on each person’s situation.

Do I need an appointment to visit the Moody doctor’s office?

Yes. Complete Health Moody values each patient’s time and thus requires patients to schedule an appointment to be seen. This ensures every patient is provided adequate time for their visit and feels respected. Established appointments allow each patient to be seen in an efficient and timely manner.
