Botox
How does Botox work?
Botox injections can successfully remove lines on the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes by relaxing the underlying muscles, preventing them from contracting and wrinkling the skin.
What to expect during your Botox appointment
Once you have scheduled your first Botox treatment with us, you may feel some anxiety, wondering exactly what it will be like. This is completely normal, but don’t worry; Botox is a simple procedure, and your doctor will work with you to make it as easy and low stress as possible. You will be able to ask any questions you have about the procedure before you begin. Once you are ready, the doctor will make several small injections of Botox solution into the target areas. This typically takes less than 15 minutes. While many worry that the injections are painful, most describe the feeling as a small pinching sensation.
It is important that you refrain from drinking alcohol, taking aspirin, or using any anti-inflammatory medications for a couple of weeks leading up to your first appointment. Although extremely rare, Botox injections can cause some bruising, especially if you are taking blood thinners.
